PEG Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client's team in Belleville, IL for this direct hire opportunity. If you're a strong leader with a knack for building effective teams and driving purchasing excellence, this role is for you!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and supervise the Purchasing Department to ensure internal and external commitments are met.
- Develop and implement programs that support strategic sourcing, performance, and financial goals .
- Collaborate across functional teams to meet customer needs and streamline processes.
- Place and manage purchase orders both domestically and internationally , coordinating with production and sales teams.
- Evaluate supplier performance, conduct business reviews, and develop corrective action plans to meet pricing, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date purchasing records, including unit cost, lead time, and material traceability.
- Achieve and monitor key performance indicators set by leadership.
- Manage special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide hands-on leadership -interviewing, hiring, training, and developing your team to succeed.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus!
- Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or management purchasing role.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and experience with JD Edwards is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower teams to achieve both organizational and personal goals.
- Strategic decision-making skills, combining analysis, judgment, and experience to drive results.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as needed (passport required).
