Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer/Author for a job with a client in Erie, PA . This position requires at least two years of experience in Technical Writing in the Automotive or similar Industry.
- Rate Range: $35.00 to $44.00 per hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Duration: 1 year + with potential for Conversion to Salaried/Direct Hire/Full Time
- Location: Erie, PA
Responsibilities include:
- The role will require creating documents to support Off Highway Vehicle service and operational information.
- Gather and review engineering documents and information for the development of Service information for large offroad industrial vehicles.
- This person will support manual development for end company and can be various types of manuals such as Repair Manuals, Operation guides.
- Read and comprehend engineering drawings and be able to use it or give to give information to the other less technical authors.
- Self-driven role.
- Communication with engineering team in professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in technical authoring/writing.
- Technical aptitude. Preferably in the Locomotive, Off Highway or Automotive industries..
- Ability to read engineering documents like CAD drawings, Wiring Diagrams and Harness Prints.
- Proficiency with FrameMaker or other DTP Applications.
- Self-motivated; Go getter; Self-starter.
- Good attitude and personality.
