Looking for PRN Physical Therapist to work as part of the rehab team in our Day Neuro  Responsible for Patient Initial Evaluations including goals and Plan Of Care, treatment progressions, weekly status notes, Discharge Assessments, Team Conference and Family Conference. Acute or IPR experience preferred. The PT will  work closely with OT, ST, RT and counseling to provide a neurologically focused treatment to the ABI and TBI population with the goal of return to work, return to school and return to community involvement. Neurological experience preferred. No new grads.

Responsibilities
n

Seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in our IPR and Day Neuro settings. This is a PRN float position at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Lakeway.  The position requires cross training to cover both our inpatient rehab unit as well as our Day Neuro program working with the adult Neuro population. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat medically complex patients that include stroke, brain injury, SCI and other acquired neuro diagnosis and co-morbidities.  We are seeking a candidate with strong neurological rehab skills who works well in a team setting. We are open to recent but not new graduates with previous experience with cognitive rehab, brain injury and stroke.

Position Summary

n

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community, vocational or academic activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

Specific Duties

  • Evaluate the patient's level of functioning and develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with patient and family goals
  • n
  • Participates in discharge planning including, patient and family education, and recommendation of DME, community mobility as able.
  • n
  • IPR- Inpatient rehabilitation Hospital- minimum of 2 weekend days per month are required/ 24 shifts per year minimum.
  • n
  • Day Neuro-minimum of 2 weekdays per month required.

  • Minimum Qualifications

      n
    • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
    • n
    • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
    • n

    Preferred Skills

    • Acute or IPR experience preferred
    • n
    • Previous experience with the adult Neuro population
