Description
n
n - Provides quality care to patients receiving diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
n - Operates interventional radiologic and specialty equipment including ultrasound units and endoscopy units to produce high quality radiographs (x-rays) for diagnostic and invasive procedures in the interventional suite and operating room.
n - Communicates patient's needs and response through appropriate verbal and written communications.
n - Negotiates win-win solutions to situations as appropriate.
n - Ensures documentation is complete and accurate regarding all aspects of patient care.
n - Responsible for proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment as well as keeps abreast of uses of medical devices.
n - Regularly assumes responsibility and provides direct care for the more complex patients.
n - Provides assistance to colleagues in recognizing, interpreting, and managing unstable patient care situations.
n - Provides quality care to patient during procedures; prepares patients for procedure with proper sterile technique.
n - Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to radiation.
n - Assists with patient and family education. Functions independently, can coordinates in Clinical Specialist's absence.
n - Precepts one health care provider/year when applicable for new staff and students.
n - May support or assist in research and related activities.
n - Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
n
n - Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
n - Current ARRT licensure. also must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with two (2) years in IR.
n - Advanced certification in VI is required. BLS certification required.
