*nnPOSITION STANDARDSnn*nnGraduate of a school of Occupational Therapy accredited by AOTA.nn*nnCurrent license ornnlicensure eligible in New Hampshire.nn*nnAge of Patients Treated:nnAll ages.nn*nnCurrent BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire.nn*nnPhysical Agent Modalities (PAM) certifiednn*nnPOSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSnn*nnAnything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements.nn*nnPhysical Activity:nn*nnMust have good physical stamina.nn*nnUpper Extremity:nn*nnBe able to tolerate much bending, lifting, walking,nnstooping, standing and desk work.nn*nnMust be able to transfer patients and assist patientsnnwith activities of daily living.nn*nnPush/Pull/Lift/Carry:nn*nnAbility to manipulate splinting materials.nn*nnPART TWO:FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITYnn*nnPosition Objectivenn*nnThe staff occupational therapist evaluates and treats assigned patients referred to Occupational Therapy by their physician. Provides supervision to COTA staff.nn*nnPerformance ExpectationnnEvaluationsnn*nnResponsible for the evaluation of all patients referred to OccupationalnnTherapy.nn*nnResponsible for the completion and submission of all reports pertaining to thennevaluation.nn*nnSees that all referral sources are advised of therapeutic POC and updates.nnTreatmentnn*nnPractices Occupational Therapy consistent with the American OccupationalnnTherapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.nn*nnMaintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of thenndepartment and the patient.nn*nnConfers with the persons most closely associated with the management of thennpatient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatmentnnmodification and/or progress.nnRecords, Reports and Communicationnn*nnResponsible for the preparation and submitting of department reports,nnensuring confidentiality of all records, including:nn*nnEvaluation reports/summaries.nn*nnDischarge reports/summaries.nn*nnProgress reports to referring physicians and agencies.nn*nnCurrent progress notes on all patients with the assigned area.nn*nnSpecial reports as requested by the director.nn*nnDaily attendance records and summaries of the same.nnAssists in maintaining department inventory in ordering supplies and equipment.nnProfessional Status and Public Relationsnn*nnKeeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of OccupationalnnTherapy.nn*nnAttends conventions, meetings or special courses whenever possible andnnshares with the department personnel information gained thereby.nn*nnPrepares and gives talks to community groups who have made requests for thennsame.nn*nnMaintains good public relations with all community sources.nnParticipates in planning and implementing new programs in Occupational Therapynndepartment.nnCare for physical area and equipment related to Occupational Therapy and maintainnnthe highest level of departmental safety.nnArea of Interest:Allied Health/Clinical;nnWork Status:M-F varied shifts;nnJob ID:5114nnDartmouth Health is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
