You also provide teaching and training to caregiver staff and supervise other therapists, assistants, aides and students as required.nnEducation & Experience:nnBachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.nnAppropriate licensing requirements by individual states must be maintained.nnTwo (2) years of clinical experience preferred.nnDuties & Responsibilities:nnScreens patients/residents.nnEvaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.nnMay perform additional assigned administrative duties like: assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.nnUnder a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised and group.nnContributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.nnConsults with and trains patients, residents and caregivers.nnMonitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.nnDocuments activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.nnDemonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.nnCommunicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customer and supervisor.nnProvides appropriate consultation to the facility.nnParticipates in clinical program development and implementation.nnParticipates in the training and orientation of other staff, students and volunteers.nnParticipates in the interview process for new staff.nnParticipates in census building and marketing activities.nnParticipates in quality improvement activities.nnResponsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.nnComplies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information.nnExhibits courtesy, compassion and respect to patients, residents, families, caregivers, visitors, physicians, administrators and co-workers.nnSpecific Requirements:nnAbility to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.nnStrong oral and written communication skills.nnStrong organizational and analytical skills.nnAbility to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment and direct patient care.nnRequires intense attention and concentration.nnAbility to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands.nnDemonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others.nnAbility to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds.nnAbility to articulate and comprehend the English language.nnStanding and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary.nnAbout Athena Health Care Systems:nnAthena Health Care Systems, headquartered in Connecticut, has been a pioneer in delivering exceptional healthcare services since its establishment in 1984.
