Job Type: RegularnnTime Type: Full timennWork Shift: Evening (United States of America)nnFLSA Status: Non-ExemptnnWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.nn40 hpw; 8-hr shifts 12p-8:30p; Mon-SatnnJob Description:nnDuties/Responsibilities:nnObserves and respects the personal privacy and confidentiality of information with regard to patients, physicians and co-workers.nnAdheres to code of conduct at all times and addresses patients in a courteous and respectful manner.nnSupports new attendant staff by acting as role model and mentor.nnConsistently complies with hospital policies and procedures for infection control and hazard communication standard including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.nnAdheres to OR/PACU Dress CodennReviews OR schedule/Case Board for case schedule in order to bring appropriate supplies and equipment outside the Operating Room in preparation for Room Turnover.nnSets up all OR specialty tables in preparation for each procedure.nnIdentifies and transports patients safely between inpatient units, DSU, operating rooms and PACU as needednnAssists in positioning and transfer of patients from stretcher and/or O.R. bed with full regard for patient privacy, patient safety and personal and staff safety.nnProperly performs room turnover using established interim cleaning procedures.nnEnsures stretcher/ inpatient bed/ oxygen is available outside operating room prior to conclusion of casennCleans operating rooms, MSTA rooms, PACU cubicles, work areas and major equipment (including O.R. beds, stretchers, etc.) between cases on a timely basis.nnHandles all noninfectious and contaminated waste according to policy.nnManages waste management systems according to manufacturer’s guidelines.nnManages oxygen and carbon dioxide tanks as instructed.nnStocks and/or assists with stocking all operating room(s) cabinets and warming cabinet..nnStocks O.R. linen cart.nnPerforms errand services to other hospital departments.nnPlaces soiled linen (bed linen, staff scrubs) in proper bags and into proper receptacle.nnKeeps coffee room clean and neat. Empties trash throughout the day.nnCleans and defrosts refrigerator according to schedule.nnAssists with returning equipment and carts to equipment room and maintaining neatness of that room.nnAssists with delivering of stat specimens to the lab or pathology.nnRetrieves blood or blood products from the blood bank.nnTransports tissue specimens and blood products in a timely manner according to policy.nnEnters requisitions for repair of broken equipment.nnDemonstrates ability to function during urgent and emergent situations.nnIt is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.nnEducation/Experience Required:nnHS DiplomannAbility to work in surgical services environment.nnAbility to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.nnRegistration/Certification:nnAHA BLS CertificationnnPhysical/Environmental RequirementsnnThis job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch.
