POSITION: Lead Bartender
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Bar Manager, Floor Manager
PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the Head Bartender is to maintain the operations’ cocktail program (proprietary and standards) and liquor program--selection, sourcing, pricing, and inventory. The head bartender is also responsible for quality control, creative direction and development in collaboration with senior leadership, and bartender training/oversight. Additionally, the head bartender will be involved in serving guests and providing prompt service and genuine hospitality to everyone. Bartenders’ organization and prioritization are strong. S/he manages all the guests’ requests while simultaneously directing the Bartenders in executing flawless service.
Head Bartenders have both a mastery of spirits, cocktails, and of the necessary steps to execute phenomenal service. Bartenders are responsible for all aspects of service and must hold themselves and their teammates to the highest standards of service excellence. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures, as well as hotel/F&B brand standards as outlined in the Service Manual.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands for this position includes standing and working for long periods of time and moving intermittently during work hours. The employee is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. These physical demands described here must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.
