Job Title : Bar Manager

Reports to : Assistant General Manager, General Manager, Bar Director

  • CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a beverage focused role or floor management role within a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
  • Must be able to lift & a carry at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)
  • Must be knowledgeable of Industry critics & awards
  • Must be knowledgeable of classic and modern cocktails
  • Must be knowledgeable of liquors: how they are made, brands, regional specifics
  • Must have full schedule availability
  • Must be able to take constructive criticisms and work well in a team dynamic
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with a hands-on approach to service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on guest service and hospitality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service.


  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage beverage service on the floor, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience.
  • Act as a point of contact for guests, staff and upper management regarding all things bar.
  • Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure consistent service standards and provide on-the-floor support during service.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Oversee the full scope of service within the building of 70 Pine Street including Crown Shy, SAGA, and Overstory in both the interior and exterior spaces
  • Delegate daily tasks to bar team
  • Maintain weekly schedule for bar teams
  • Coordinate with Bar Director and assist with project planning & staff management 
  • Ensure quality of product & product sourcing
  • Assisting with R&D for Crown Shy, SAGA, Overstory, PDR, and offsite projects
  • Share and report any issues or possible solutions regarding the facilities of Crown Shy, SAGA, and Overstory
  • Maintain an ‘open door policy’ with employees by reporting all complaints and issues involving staff or guests to HR
  • Maintain connections with regular guest & foster relationships with new guests
  • Cash handling
  • Open/close restaurant
  • Report all complaints and issues involving staff or guests to HR
  • As a manager, it is also your responsibility to be knowledgeable of, and willing to perform, the job responsibilities of the Bartender & Lead Bartender positions


  • LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement company policies and protocols & maintain standards
  • Problem solve and address any issues in a timely manner 
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed   
  • Nurture positive working relationships with staff 
  • Lead by & set a good example for staff
  • Self Manage timelines to achieve goals & daily tasks 


  • STAFFING RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Participate in the recruitment & interview process for potential new hires in coordination with General Manager, Bar Director, and HR
  • Oversee employee candidate trails and relay information to General Manager, Bar Director for hiring decisions
  • Engage in the promotional decision-making processes in coordination with General Manager, Bar Director and HR 
  • Issue disciplinary action when necessary
  • Engage in the decision-making process for terminations in coordination with General Manager, Bar Director and HR 
  • Create annual staff reviews and ‘1 on 1’s for hourly Overstory staff and submit to Bar Director for review
  • Issue annual reviews in coordination with Bar Director
  • Manage annual review & ‘1 on 1’ schedules in coordination with Bar Director & HR
  • Maintain accuracy of bar job descriptions in coordination with Bar Director & HR
  • Oversee New Hire training & facilitate 3-month check in coordination with HR


  • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Scheduling
  • Assisting with Inventory Management
  • Participate in the maintenance of training materials for staff
  • Attend & support extracurricular educational programs like OBM & Leadership training
  • Coordinate Staff training opportunities
