Candidates should possess a combination of solid mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience and the willingness and ability to learn. This is a dynamic position that requires the flexibility to work on different systems, the ability to troubleshoot anomalies, and can work autonomously to defined schedules while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everything that is done.nnRESPONSIBILITIES:nnSupport day-to-day production which includes manufacturing processes such as EB & TIG welding, precision cleaning, non-destructive testing, heat treat, machining, and assemblynnTroubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation and feedback to engineeringnnUse precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipersnnPerform blending, filing and shearing of sheet metal piece partsnnPerform work according to procedures, specifications and test instructionsnnRead and interpret technical drawings, and follow detailed work instructionsnnPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environmentnnAccurately record daily work completion to report to the lead techniciannnResponsible for maintaining a professional and neat work areannBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:nnHigh school diploma or equivalency certificatenn1+ years of experience working in a production, mechanical, military, or manufacturing environmentnnPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:nnExperience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical systemsnnStrong mathematical, basic computer, problem solving, and decision-making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skillsnnEmbodies team mentality, coachable and reliablennThe ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet aggressive schedules, operate and understand readouts on standard cell instrumentationnnProficient with computers and the ability to use MS OfficennFAA A&P certificatenn5S knowledge and experiencennHigh attention to detail in order to ensure safety and accuracy of testing proceduresnnPrevious interaction and correspondence with support engineersnnADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:nnMust be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.nnMust be able to lift a min. of 25 lbs. unassistednnMust be able to stand for extended periodsnnMust be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spacesnnCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:nnPay range:nnPropulsion Technician/Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hournnPropulsion Technician/Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hournnPropulsion Technician/Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hournnYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.nnBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
