Dean is headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, and employs more than 5,800 professionals who engineer and deploy automated, secure, and resilient power and technology systems; and deliver the management platforms essential for long-term system sustainability.nnPosition Description:nnThe Fire Alarm Engineer 1 is responsible for installing, programming, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of fire alarm systems in tenant suites, single story flex space systems, and large retail and office buildings for commercial and government buildings.nnPosition Responsibilities:nnPlan and perform testing and inspection of large fire alarm systems per NFPA and local code standards, noting existing and potential deficiencies.nnPrepare accurate and timely inspection and service reports.nnPerform complete site surveys for potential PM inspections and FA system changes/modifications, prepare corresponding quotations.nnProgram and service fire alarm systems of various models.nnTroubleshoot various FA systems.nnPerform pre-testing and final inspections for assigned projects.nnDevelop and perform PITCO activities.nnDesign of Fire Alarm & Detection, Supervising Stations, and Mass Notification SystemsnnDesign of Special hazard suppression systems.nnMaintain design standards and process for Life Safety Group.•Perform calculations including battery, NAC panel and system standby.nnCreate redline drawings for as built preparation.nnComplete job-related documents including ROC, Test Forms etc.nnEnsure compliance with all applicable codes and standards.nnPerform online research, installation manuals, manufacture manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.nnRequired Education & Qualifications:nn0-2 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science Degree in a related engineering field.nnAbove average level of attention to detail and professional work ethic.nnCommitment to excellence and a high quality of work.nnAbility to function in a controlled, effective manner under stress.nnHigh level of customer service.nnStrong desire to continuously increase your skill set and take on more responsibility.nnAbove average communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub-contractors.nnPreferred Qualifications:nnNICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 1nnEngineer in Training (EIT) CertificationnnAbilities:nn• Exposure to computer screens for an extended period.nnSitting for extended periods of time.nnReach by extending hands or arms in any direction.nnHave finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.nnListen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.nnCommunicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.nnRead and understand information and ideas presented in writing.nnApply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.nnIdentify and understand the speech of another person.nnApplicants for this position may be required to obtain or provide proof of flu shots or of other vaccinations depending on customer requirements and nature of the position or demonstrate a valid basis for exception.nnEOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/DisablednnVEVRAA Contractor
