*You may be eligible for a hire on bonus of $5,000.00 and relocation assistance! *nn**nnPOSITION SUMMARY:nnTo be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: Being committed to the Health First I CARE Values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence; Being engaged and contributing to a positive and productive work environment; Producing quality images; Following all HF, hospital and departmental protocols in a professional, memorable and timely manner; Mentoring the technical development of co-workers and students within a team concept.nnPRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:nnMaintain a safe environment for patients/customers, team members and yourself.nEnsure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient by verifying two forms of patient identification on “Every Patient / Every Time”.nPerform “time out” process prior to starting any invasive procedure.nAdhere to ALARA principles of radiation safety.nKnowledge regarding location of emergency equipment/supplies and how to use such equipment/supplies.nFamiliar with the Health First Emergency Kardex and responsibilities in relation to specified emergent codes.nResponsible for hurricane preparedness and your duties as a Health First associate.nFollow Infection Control policies and procedures; practice aseptic and sterile techniques.nEffectively document and communicate pertinent and required information.nReport malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department, fellow associate and management in a timely manner.nAccurately complete all required documentation/forms – written/electronic (ex: patient history, pregnancy, IV contrast, procedural consent, MAR, safety portal, medication reconciliation, PACS.nReview exam orders from medical charts and/or prescriptions prior to performing an exam.nObtain pertinent patient history from the requisition, the patient, the medical chart or other sources.nPerform procedure protocols, produce images consistent with image quality standards and follow all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission/ACR standards.nProperly position patients and uses appropriate technique.nAssure that exam rooms are clean, neat, stocked and disinfected; and that equipment is clean, disinfected and ready for the next patient encounter.nFollow proper image retrieval and file processes.nParticipate in quality initiatives and offer suggestions for departmental improvements including departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.nAccept additional responsibilities to assist with reaching departmental goals/initiatives.nAttend staff meetings/in-services as required. Reads and signs off on all staff meeting minutes as required.nProperly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.nn*Customer Experience: *nnCommunicate effectively with customers (patients, LIP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) using excellent customer relation skills at all times. o Provide appropriate pre and post procedure education to each patient. o Respond appropriately to patient/family concerns or complaints. o Demonstrate sensitivity to patient privacy and dignity.nPractices the “I-CARE PROMISE” o I - I will Introduce myself and my role. o C - I will Clarify what I will be doing. o A - I will Ask if there are any questions. o R - I will Respond with information and concern. o E - I will go the Extra mile.nn*Stewardship: *nnUtilize supplies/equipment with care in a safe, proficient and cost effective manner.nEnsure computer data is appropriately entered for each procedure, – charged completely and appropriately for all procedure(s) performed and supplies used.nDemonstrate effective time management skillsnComplete jobs/tasks in a timely and concise manner.nWillingly assist in other areas of the department and hospital or act as a Health First representative when needed to do so.nUtilize Kronos time clock system properly; report to work area on time and follow break and lunch policies.nMaintain flexibility, adapt to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.nnQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:nnGraduate of a Joint Review Committee approved Radiologic Technology program, or equivalent approved school of Radiologic Technology.nPossess a current Florida State License as a General Radiographer.nPossess a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) registration or be registry eligible.nMust hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.nComputer-related skills deemed pertinent for optimal technical performance.nExcellent oral and written communication skills.nAbility to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.nnPHYSICAL DEMANDS:nnAble to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout their shift.nAble to move, lift, or position patients as required.nAble to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.nDependable and flexible in relation to covering required shifts.nAble to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times per day.nAble to wear lead aprons for extended periods of time.nnMENTAL DEMANDS:nnAble to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.nAble to respond to life threatening situations.nAbility to multi-task.nDemonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.nExhibit professional code of conduct and ethical principles.nDemonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to relate well to all customers.nnJob: *RadiologynnOrganization: *Palm Bay HospitalnnTitle: Radiology Technologist - Diagnostic RadiologynnLocation: Florida - Brevard County-Palm BaynnRequisition ID: 073956
