Job Title: Equipment Operator

Overview:
This role will involve predominantly offshore work patterns, and the individual will be responsible for
operating company equipment in a safe, competent and professional manner, ensuring effective
communication is maintained between various stakeholders, including but not limited to, the Client, Third Parties and internal company departments.
Equipment packages typically consist of:
• Tensioners (4-track & 2-track),
• Reel Drive Systems,
• Drum Winches,
• Spoolers,
• Hydraulic Power Units (Electrical & Diesel).
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Adopting the company Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of equipment and machinery owned and operated within the company’s Group, with ability to operate, repair and maintain equipment items.
• Be familiar with and conduct operational checks on company equipment prior to use to ensure successful and safe product deployment / recovery.
• Demonstrate full knowledge of and adherence to company equipment operating procedures that are
relevant to all modes of operation of the equipment in the field.
• Assist and support other Electrical / Mechanical Technicians and Operations Supervisors as required in
all aspects of equipment operation and project execution.
• Assist and support other Electrical / Mechanical Technicians as required in all aspects of equipment
maintenance and repairs during project and maintenance periods.
• Support in executing equipment testing, including Load/Pull Tests, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
and Site Integration Test (SITs).
• Attend project briefings & de-briefings, including but not limited to, Client inductions and Hazard
Identification & Risk Assessments (HIRA’s).
• Participate in internal and external training courses where identified and ensure validity of any
role/industry required certification.
• Perform inventory stock take of equipment on arrival at worksite, communicating any anomalies and or damage to the Client, company Supervisor (on site).
• Work in the workshop on occasion to support mobilization/demobilization and/or maintenance of
equipment.
• Complete required onsite paperwork such as post installation checks & maintenance records and Daily
Client Service Record (DCSR).
• Demobilize equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo
manifests.
• Adherence to Client safe working practices and quality assurance systems.
• HSEQ – compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and the company’s business
management system.
• Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – Clients, colleagues etc.
• To be a positive ambassador for company.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Technical engineering qualification, time served mechanical or hydraulic technician,
• Experience operating machinery in accordance with above tasks.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
