Role: Director, Medical Staff Services
Terms of Employment
• Contract-to-Hire , 3-Months
o This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and conversion could happen any time after 8-weeks.
• The hours could fluctuate between 7am-6pm but a standard 8-hour shift. Candidates can discuss work hours during the interview.
Job Summary
• The position is responsible for the management of medical staff services, providing support for functions of medical staff including governance, credentialing, and communications.
Job Requirements
• At least 10+ years working in a relevant position at a director level overseeing medical staff/facility operations.
• 6+ years of thorough knowledge of TJC and CMS, NCQA and URAC standards and requirements is required.
• 6+ years background in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Medical Staff CME verification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience directly reporting to Providers who are SVP's & COOs.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field of some sort (healthcare administration, business administration, nursing administration, etc.), Master's degree is preferred but BA required.
• Possess a current certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPMSM or CPCS) or is willing to achieve this certification within two years of hire.
Qualifications
• Education & Training: Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Masters preferred.
• Current certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPMSM or CPCS), or achievement of certification within two years.
• Work Orientation & Experience: (a) Ten years progressive experience required in hospital Medical Staff Administration; (b) Six years demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with follow-through required; (c) Six years thorough knowledge of TJC and CMS, NCQA and URAC standards and requirements is required; (d) Six years background in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Medical Staff CME verification preferred; (e) Knowledge of medical terminology.
