The unit also has an attached endoscopy suite which has 4 clinic rooms, 2 prep rooms, 2 procedure rooms and 2 recovery bays.”nnSummarynnUnder the Perioperative leader, assumes responsibility and accountability for assuring quality care as a health care team member within the Perioperative environment. The scope of responsibility of the Surgical Technologist includes the ability to anticipate, plan for, and respond to the needs of the patient, surgeon, and other team members. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, patient families, coworkers, and physicians.nnEducationnnMust have a high school diploma or the equivalent GED. Must be a graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or must provide evidence of employment as a Surgical Technologist prior to July 1, 2009.nnLicensure CertificationnnMust have current certified surgical technologist certification; or obtain certification within 12 months completion of a degree from an accredited school of surgical technology; or must provide evidence of employment as a certified surgical technologist prior to July 1, 2009; or must be a current valid licensed practitioner providing evidence of employment as a surgical technologist. Certification must be renewed every four years. Completes required 15 CEU credits annually. Must maintain current CPR certification.nnExperiencennHealthcare experience preferred.nnOther QualificationsnnMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting.
