Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Direct IG Operations services, including Data Management, Matter Mobility, and Policy oversight.
  • Collaborate with leadership and partners to align IG strategies with Firm objectives.
  • Shape global strategies, policies, and operational processes to ensure compliant, efficient IG services delivery.
  • Partner with the IG Director on key strategic decisions and team management.
  • Serve as a liaison to legal and business services stakeholders, ensuring effective technology solutions and support.

IG Operations

  • Improve and standardize IG services, processes, and best practices across global operations.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and address potential breaches with the Security Manager.
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist with budgeting and resource planning for technology and staffing needs.
  • Develop and implement strategic global IG programs meeting regulatory, ethical, privacy requirements and retention/disposal protocols.
  • Foster compliance and user adoption through education and change management strategies.

Data Management

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of electronic data IG operations by the Data Management team, including Shared Drive management, electronic data migration, provisioning, mailbox management, and data compliance across Electronic Closing Libraries (ECBs), legal opinions, survey assessments, and Firmchargeable number global programs and projects.

IG Policies

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of IG Policies, including Firm IG Policy advice, IG metrics and reporting, and IG processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Liaise with the IG Counsel, including across the Firm’s Records Retention Schedules and client clause support.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in a role related to risk management, information governance, records management, or information experience.
  • Experience coordinating or supervising the work of others.
  • Exhibit commercial and business awareness information governance expertise and experience in work assignment, work product review, performance feedback delivery, goal setting, and metrics reporting.
  • Hold an educational background in information technology, legal, compliance, information management, or records management.
  • Have a working knowledge of regional and global privacy regulations and programs.

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Legal Document Management Systems (DMS), proficient in iManage Work in a legal setting is a plus
  • Prior experience using and/or administering major eDiscovery and Legal Hold Process Management platforms, as well as Records Management solutions is a plus
