Job Description

This is a TPD (0.2 Status) day shift Surgical Technologist position in the Surgery Department.
The Surgical Technologist is an allied health professional competent of surgical procedures and an integral part of the surgical care team. The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in theory and application of aseptic and sterile technique, knowledgeable of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgeon preferences to properly prepare the sterile field, supplies, instrumentation and assisting through a combination of knowledge, participation, anticipation, and critical thinking. The Surgical Technologist works alongside and assists the circulating nurse as well as other members of the surgical team.
Minimum Required:

  • Associate of Applied Science in Surgical technology through an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
  • BLS upon hire and Healthcare provider BLS within three (3) months of hire.
Preferred / Desired:
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS.
  • National Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Preferred 1 year Surgical Technologist acute care experience.
On Call / Weekend : Weekday and Weekend Call.
