Job Title: Mechanical DesignernnJob DescriptionnnWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to lead the design and development of mechanical rooms, rooftop penthouses, piping systems, and other components associated with industrial refrigeration systems for cold storage warehouses. The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering principles and experience in mechanical and refrigeration systems.nnResponsibilitiesnnLead the design of mechanical rooms, rooftop penthouses, piping systems, and other components associated with industrial refrigeration systems for cold storage warehouses.nnPerform advanced engineering calculations for system design, including tolerance dimensions, thermal analysis, and structural considerations.nnEnsure designs are compliant with company procedures, industry regulations, and client standards.nnReview and submit detailed drawings to upper management, fabrication teams, and construction teams for approval.nnProvide technical support during the building and installation process to ensure systems are built according to design specifications.nnBuild Bills of Materials (BOM) for each design and input data into the ERP system.nnCollaborate with the fabrication team during the manufacturing process, offering technical expertise as needed.nnWork with the purchasing team to ensure timely and accurate material orders.nnCommunicate with vendors regarding part specifications and fabrication requirements.nnOccasionally mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on design best practices and technical issues.nnEssential Skillsnn2-5 years of experience in mechanical system design.nnBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.nnProfessional experience with AutoCAD or other CAD programs (e.g., the person, SolidWorks).nnStrong understanding of engineering principles, with a focus on mechanical and refrigeration systems.nnAdditional Skills & QualificationsnnBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME preferred).nnMinimum of 5-7 years of experience managing large-scale industrial refrigeration or related projects (e.g., HVAC, commercial refrigeration, or heavy industrial construction).nnProven leadership abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.nnStrong negotiation skills to ensure cost-effective procurement and the ability to solve complex issues independently within project constraints.nnThe ability to make independent business decisions within budget, seeking guidance only when dealing with exceptionally difficult issues.nnExcellent organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects.nnStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and provide clear updates on project progress.nnProficiency in project management software and familiarity with CAD and engineering drawings.nnExpertise in ammonia and CO2-based refrigeration systems, with a deep understanding of relevant safety and environmental regulations.nnProfessional Engineering License.nnAbility and willingness to travel to construction sites nationwide.nnWork EnvironmentnnHeadquarters are located in Lyndhurst.
