Selectek has an immediate need for a Mechanical Designer  who has experience working with Solidworks. This position will design and prepare shop drawings and bills of material related to functionality and assembly of components of high voltage switch products.nEssential Responsibilities:nnPrepare detail drawings / layouts and sketches of parts and equipment used by Transmission Switch Product Division for engineering and fabrication purposes.nPrepare Bills of Material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.nReview and process orders for production.nMake electrical, mechanical and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.nInitiates changes as assigned by Senior Designer or Application Engineer in existing drawings after investigating technical effects of such changes.nOther duties can include help with:no Erecting of switch products for testing purposes.no Process orders, drawings usually associated with Engineering Services.nnRequired:nn2+ years of mechanical design experience creating drawings using SolidworksnProficient with Solidworks and AutoCADnStrong mechanical understandingnnJob Order Details:nThe focus of the role will be creating shop drawings for their switch applications. The candidate will make changes to existing core drawings, so their products meet their client’s needs by customizing the equipment.
