SUMMARY Drives gasoline or diesel powered truck to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties. This position is located at our Golden, CO branch.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY VARY BY LOCATION:
Job duties may vary based on business needs but may result in generating, handling, and/or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage. This can include responding or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the sites emergency action or contingency plan. These duties include preparing and managing hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
- Reads customer orders/shipping papers or purchase orders and schedules deliveries or pick-ups. Drives truck to destination.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Responsible for picking up product at vendor warehouse and verifies correct product, volume and paperwork. Delivers product to Company warehouse or to customer.
- Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations. Completes Company paperwork including but not limited to: bill of lading, waybills, inspection reports, driver log, trip reports, and container return reports. Driver will be trained on People Net Web Base Driver Logs in conjunction with paper logs.
- Checks bills of lading, placards, and packaging for accuracy.
- Assists workers in loading and unloading truck. Collects empty containers and product to be returned and insures they are DOT empty prior to accepting from customer. Drives and inspects forklift truck as necessary.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Schedules maintenance and repairs as needed.
- When not driving, responsibilities may include drumming product, warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.
- Insures all shipments are properly secured per DOT requirements prior to leaving the facility.
- Insures all customer requirements are met for deliveries including stenciling of customer codes on packages, COA's, MSDS, etc.
- Performs pre and post trip inspection of tractor and trailer as required.
- Uses Company provided equipment such as cell phones and Peoplenet software in accordance with all laws, regulations and Harcros SOPs. (i.e. not talking/texting while driving, etc.)
- Safely operates all equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years related experience and/or training.
- And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement- Required
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Ability to operate forklift truck. Ability to pass DOT (Department of Transportation) physical examination.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and maybe frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
