Litigation Paralegal


Job Location: San Antonio, TX (In-person)

Job Type: Full-time

This is an excellent opportunity to work for Davis & Santos, PLLC, a law firm of attorneys dedicated to client satisfaction, performance and results. Seeking a candidate who is looking to join a fast-moving practice and hone their litigation skills while receiving training and mentorship from attorneys and other paralegals with extensive experience.


Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced paralegal for our busy and exciting complex litigation practice. Our steadfast commitment to each client to provide the highest quality work product is a top priority and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.


Duties & Responsibilities

The paralegal will be responsible for all aspects of litigation practice from inception of the case to settlement. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage large-scale discovery and e-discovery matters, including document preservation, collection and productions
  • Review, digest, and index voluminous document production. Ability to summarize documents and contents into charts, spreadsheets, and other visuals
  • Provide hands-on operational litigation technology support, including but not limited to projects such as e-discovery database creation and maintenance; importing images and load files into e-discovery databases; searching data; exporting data; reformatting and converting data; designing forms and reports; e-discovery processes; scanning, OCR and coding use
  • Assist with preparing attorneys and witnesses for depositions and court appearances, including without limitation by assembling case files and evidence and binder preparation
  • Prepare for trials in state and federal court, including managing trial support, creating and overseeing trial exhibits, setting up war rooms and attending trial to assist with presenting evidence, and traveling as needed
  • Review and summarize depositions 
  • Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review
  • Track litigation deadlines, provide deadlines to docketing, and confirm deadlines are docketed correctly
  • Assist fellow paralegals and attorneys as needed

  • Ability to multi-task; prioritizes and completes projects in a fast-paced environment across multiple cases for multiple attorneys
  • Familiarity with local rules and chambers rules and consulting with same to ensure compliance
  • Sensitivity to confidential and proprietary information and materials


Qualifications

  • College degree
  • Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience as litigation paralegal
  • Experience using e-discovery software such as Disco, Digital War Room, etc.
  • Experience using trial presentation software such as Sanction, Trial Director, On Cue etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat required
  • Spanish fluency is a plus
