PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Patient Care Representative/Tech Aide will contribute to the goals of Shields Health Care Group by
Providing exceptional customer service with professionalism, efficiency and accuracy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greet patients, collect necessary copay/deductible/co-insurance and explain the consent form to be completed.
2. Assist patients with iPad check in process, ability to trouble shoot and provide feedback
3. Ability to recognize and utilize when language services are needed
4. Distribute films/CDs as required, while maintaining HIPAA and the Patient Privacy Policy.
5. Work in collaboration with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
6. Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.
7. Prepare set up for next day's appointment schedule and communicate any potential issues
8. Provide and respect confidentiality of all customer groups.
9. Verify and enter necessary information into our systems.
10. Respond appropriately to scheduling emergency patient situations.
11. Support Customer Care with machine utilization by filling the template (Utilizing waitlist and hold list)
12. Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy, efficiency and in a professional manner.
13. Keep management informed of situations and conditions with potential impact on the company, particular department(s) or customer group.
14. Remain current on any changes in policies or procedures that modify daily work functions.
15. Assists In patient interview process
16. Assists in preparing patient scan room
17. Maintain co pay/petty cash accuracy and make daily bank deposits
18. Performs other related duties as required
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. High School Diploma required
2. Medical office or healthcare administration courses preferred
3. Must be CPR certified
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required
2. Attention to detail and typing accuracy required
3. Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology and insurance requirements is preferred.
4. Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
5. Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for extended periods of time while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone. Can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS: This position requires extensive interaction with all customer groups. Candidate must be personable, upbeat, fast paced and organized.
