About the Position:

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, testing and maintaining electrical wiring and production facility equipment that supports the achievement of the facility's business goals and objectives. This role requires someone with a high level of autonomy, a self-starter with a positive and proactive approach. The successful candidate must work effectively with all departments, management and employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical wiring and components of equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain electrical equipment and circuitry to meet regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels for all equipment and facilities.
  • Demonstrate ability to work from technical specifications, drawings, operating procedures and diagrams.
  • Install electrical distribution systems including conduit bending, threading, and reaming, wiring, installation and repair of electrical components of all types.
  • Program and troubleshoot VFD's.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's.
  • Document and maintain electrical records to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and completeness to streamline troubleshooting and knowledge transfer to others.
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner to minimize production downtime, implement solutions to reduce/eliminate reoccurrences, and move to a preventative maintenance system.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of all work performed in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Work with outside vendors that supply control systems for operations and equipment to streamline processes and upgrades.
  • Work closely with KFI IT department to maintain, upgrade, and improve IT infrastructure to meet requirements for MPS, network, and camera systems.
  • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled workers including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, which require the safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience; OR, completion of a four-year federally approved technical program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years electrical experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must be able to work on raised platforms and high areas.
  • Must be willing to work scheduled daily shift and weekend rotation, call-in, and overtime as required.
  • Able to pass pulmonary testing to wear a full-face respirator as infrequently needed.
  • Must perform duties in a work environment that is not HVAC controlled, dusty, with some outdoor work required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no suspensions.
  • Must be capable to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial man lifts.
  • Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Safety/OSHA knowledge.
  • Experience programming robots (FANUC)
  • Extensive experience in PLC programming
