Job Description
1. Selects the appropriate ultrasonic technical and recording parameters.
2. Performs more complex ultrasound procedures on patients. Deviates from the normal ultrasound exam to complete the procedure, when necessary.
3. Assists Physicians and other health care personnel regarding the nature, scheduling of procedures performed within the Ultrasound Department.
4. Assists in the development of new tests by performing comparison studies and clinical trials, and implements these new procedures.
5. May plan, schedule and coordinate the day-to-day activities to ensure the continuous flow of work.
6. Assists in developing quality control procedures and quality assurance and instructs other technical personnel on aspects of their routine use.
7. Conducts training programs in ultrasonography.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Valid certification in Sonography issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); and
2. One (1) year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer.
