Job Description
The Turk's Inn was founded in 1934 in the northwoods of Wisconsin, where for 80 years it served steaks and chops alongside more exotic fare in a lush Arabesque setting. Upon its closing in 2014, we committed to keeping the spirit of Turk’s alive, moving it part and parcel from Wisconsin to Brooklyn, expanding on the concept to keep it fresh and interesting for a new generation of Turk’s patrons.   

In its new home, the Turk’s Inn houses a 60-seat dining room inspired by the original, a take-out kiosk serving deluxe shawarma, a rooftop patio, and a 280-person nightclub called The Sultan Room.


Summary

The Turk’s Inn is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic FOH Manager to join our team. The FOH Manager will handle all evening needs for the Turk’s Inn dinner service inclusive but not limited to: cash reconciliation, floor management, amending staffing discrepancies and shutting down the space. They will assist with Turk’s Inn management as needed, and report to the General Manager. The FOH manager is a passionate, respectful, hospitality-focused leader with the ability to delight our guests while inspiring our entire team.  

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 2+ years of management experience, preferably from NYT reviewed establishments
  • A passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and dining
  • Food Handler’s Certification 
  • Technical proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation systems, and Google Drive
  • Outstanding email etiquette 
  • A positive attitude, leadership skills, and excellent communication 
  • Advanced knowledge of wine a plus!


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Service Management-- regularly runs service and events to ensure all opening, closing, and service procedures are followed. Resolves service challenges with a white glove touch in the moment and sets the tone for warm and professional nightly service. Works with staff to achieve nightly, weekly and quarterly goals. Effectively manages time and quality of work.

Problem Solving-- identify operational, service, and/or fiscal issues and suggest corrective action to General Manager. Collaborate with team to ensure best practices are used at all times.

Human Resources-- communicates job expectations, mentors, appraises, and reviews job contributions to FOH staff while enforcing policies and procedures. 

Relationships-- builds professional relationships with our guests, staff, co-workers, and third party vendors. Uses these relationships to benefit the operations and progress of the company through new/repeat customers, staff retention, healthy working dynamics and mutual support.

Cost Control-- ensures proper cash handling, inventory, and ordering takes place. Researches cost effective solutions to streamline operations. Reconciles weekly bank drop, tip sheet, time cards and petty cash log.
