Primary duties: Prepare food according to recipes and chefs standard.
Overview
As a prep cook at MUSE, your focus is to maintain high food standards, a clean, safe kitchen and follow all kitchen procedures as it pertains to recipes, cooking instructions, etc. according to local Health Department standards.
Responsibilities - Prepare ingredients for cooking according to standard recipes and specifications.
- Chop, dice, slice, and otherwise prepare vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes or as instructed by the chef.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly stored and labeled.
- Monitor ingredient levels and notify the chef or manager when supplies are running low.
- Assist in inventory management by keeping track of ingredient usage and reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Adhere to proper sanitation and food safety guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas as needed.
- Support the chef and other kitchen staff during peak hours.
- Assist in cooking tasks such as grilling, frying, and baking.
- Plate and garnish dishes as instructed by the chef.
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow instructions from the chef or kitchen manager closely.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
- Ensure that all prepared food meets quality standards before it is served.
- Pay attention to detail and follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency.
- Notify the chef of any issues or concerns regarding food quality or freshness.
