Job Description

Forsythia is looking for LINE COOKS who are passionate about their craft to join our growing team!

If you have a little experience and are looking to learn and grow in this industry, we may be the place for you.  Our menu changes regularly based on seasonal availability, and we host special events featuring exciting ingredients.  At Forsythia, cooks tend to learn a lot and don't become bored of the same repetitive menu.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, but with a team to support you
  • Eager to learn and build foundational and advanced culinary skills
  • Own a knife and appreciate that it helps you make a living
  • Able to follow instructions and not afraid to ask questions for clarification
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability

Job Requirements:

  • Experience on a line with preference to a French brigade system
  • Prepare food under state sanitation guidelines
  • Must work well under pressure, knowing you have a team to support you
  • Ability to complete tasks to our standards in a timely manner
  • Understand how service works and how it relates to morning prep
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, take out trash, wash dishes or utensils
  • Lift and carry 30+ pounds
  • Ability to work long hours standing, shifts will last between 8 to 10 hours.

  • Competitive pay ($18 – 23$ per hour)
