A health services network in New York City is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Endoscopy team in Manhattan as a Charge Nurse.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 6:30am to 5:30pm (8 hours to be completed between this time
- Patient Population: Adults (18 to 95 years old)
- Patient Volume: 18 per day
- Call: None
- EMR: Probation
Responsibilities: The Charge Nurse (RN) will be responsible for:
- Assessing the clinical staffing needs of the Center and discusses with the Director of Nursing
- Participating in interviewing candidates
- Completing initial and annual competency worksheets
- Working with the Director of Nursing to resolve any employee issues or problems that may develop
- Keeping detailed notes regarding performance issues and follows established guidelines in dealing with performance problems
- Ongoing evaluations of clinical performance and interaction with Physicians and peers
- Contributing to yearly performance reviews, providing input to Director of Nursing
- Participating in all CQI Studies within the center; providing information to be used on benchmarking programs
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience as a Charge Nurse
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role
- Previous experience in a Critical Care and/or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Knowledge of EMR and Medical terminology
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- ACLS certification
- GI experience
- Previous experience in an ASC and/or GI Suite
