Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern PRN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and assist the nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the clinical team to create and implement care plans with both direct and indirect patient care.
• Obtaining and recording patient information throughout the care cycle.
• Assisting patients with mobility, turning, positioning, and ambulating them, as well as transferring them to other units and departments.
• Translating complex medical terminology for patients, families, and caregivers to ensure understanding of medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Educating patients, families, and caregivers on healthy lifestyle changes and self-management upon discharge.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and in good standing, with the ability to perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.
• One year of nursing school completion is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
