The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with cerebral palsy across Ontario, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This individual will lead our charity’s mission through advocacy, fundraising, facilitation, and community support.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in nonprofit leadership, a passion for empowering individuals with disabilities, and a proven ability to drive strategic growth through effective management, fundraising, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Vision
- Provide inspirational leadership, ensuring the organization’s values, mission, and vision are at the forefront of all initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the reach and impact of programs and services.
- Act as the primary spokesperson, advocating alongside people with cerebral palsy to increase public awareness and foster inclusive communities.
Fundraising and Financial Management
- Oversee all fundraising efforts, including developing donor relationships, securing grants, and planning events to sustain and grow financial resources.
- Ensure robust financial management practices, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Cultivate partnerships with corporate sponsors, government agencies, and other stakeholders to diversify funding sources.
Program Development and Delivery
- Oversee and support the design, review, and delivery of impactful programs that address the unique needs of individuals with cerebral palsy.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure they align with the organization's goals and community needs.
Governance and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and others to set organizational priorities and make informed decisions.
- Build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, government agencies, member groups, and other stakeholders.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive workplace culture and community that prioritizes equity, accessibility, and employee well-being.
- Collaborate closely with the related Trust (Clothing Pick-Up for Cerebral Palsy) to ensure alignment of financial resources and strategic goals, optimizing the impact of funding to support programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles within the nonprofit or charitable sector.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations, with a track record of securing significant funding.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and oversee financial operations.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with experience representing organizations to media, government, and community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of issues affecting individuals with disabilities, particularly cerebral palsy.
- Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social work, public health administration or a related field.
- Experience in crisis management and navigating organizational change.
- Familiarity with provincial and federal legislation affecting nonprofits as well as individuals with disabilities.
