Our client, one of the world’s largest natural resource companies, is seeking a Senior Advisor – Consolidation
- Role based in Montreal, Canada.
About the Role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for Sr Advisor – Consolidation to deliver consolidation services to ensure compliance with internal and external accounting and reporting requirements and regulations in accordance with IFRS and the company's policies.
Reporting line: Manager of Consolidation.
Responsibilities:
Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:
• Participating in the monthly consolidation of the company's Product Groups.
• Train and guide team to deliver qualitative and timely results.
• Prepare and conduct training programs for Internal teams.
• Analyzing consolidated financial statements to ensure output is compliant to the requirements of all stakeholders.
• Preparing financial reports for senior management.
• Providing HFM guidance and other accounting advice to our controllership and finance service team to improve performance.
• Ensure periodic Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) compliance as applicable, support and liaise with Internal/External Auditors during SOX and Substantive audits, so as to ensure a fully compliant environment.
• Continuously improving our processes with an innovative mindset by leveraging data analytics and digital solution.
• Collaborating with various teams across the global organization.
Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, accounting certification CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in consolidation in a large multi-national, multi-currency organization.
• Fluent in French and English , both written and spoken. The company is global and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) would be an asset.
• Strong understanding of IFRS.
• Experience in preparing consolidated statement of cash flows is an asset.
• Understanding of accounting for financial assets and liabilities is an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with various teams spread throughout many countries and time-zones.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills, including variance analysis capabilities.
• Beneficial to have SAP experience.
