Job Description

LeverageTek is actively seeking an Advisor, Contract Management for a 6-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.



Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Key Tasks

  • Provide timely advice and expertise to the organization in respect of public sector procurement and contracting policies and processes.
  • Responsible to ensure that appropriate contracting instruments are in place to meet Objectives for major funded programs, other key corporate initiatives and. ongoing operational activities for the sustainment of core operations and support services
  • Help ensure protection from exposure to commercial and reputational risks and supports the cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Create Purchase Orders within Financial system (Dynamics GP) for executed agreements
  • Contacting and negotiating with external service providers to communicate and protect needs coordinating, negotiating, and establishing contracts for services and supplies; including verification of the delivery of services; and discussing and resolving problems and delays as they arise



Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a business or commerce, or an acceptable number of years experience and/or training in this field
  • 5 years experience in providing procurement and contracting support to a multi-disciplinary work group, in a demanding environment
  • Experience analyzing the contract terms and identifying areas of possible risks and opportunities related to the application of contract clauses in collaboration with internal management and legal counsel as well as external legal counsel when required



Qualifications

  • Experience with contract management software & Microsoft office suite programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • 3 years experience coordinating and supporting contracting activities in the public sector
