Civil Estimator

Responsibilities:

• Perform specialized civil engineering tasks such as SOE ground improvements dewatering, piling, soil or rock anchors, soil grouting, earthwork, backfill, grading ETC for all locations
• analyze documents, drawings, specifications and proposals to prepare accurate pricing
• conduct site visits prior to price preparation to gather necessary information
• collaborate with operations staff to obtain input an ensure comprehensive estimates
• perform quantity takeoff from construction drawings where applicable
• formulate comprehensive costs for tender submissions, including labour, equipment, materials, rentals and subcontracts
• have manage the handover process upon project award
• maintain organized files and correspondence for active and completed tenders
• contribute to product success and learning through effective communication and collaboration
• assist with post bid/post project analysis completion and facilitate associated learning and communication

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, civil technologist
• minimum of three to five years of progressive estimation experience in civil construction
• proficiency in Google platform sheets, docs, drive
• ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently
• understanding of site conditions impacting bid costs and constructability
• understanding the job handover process from estimation to operations
• bilingual is considered an asset
