Our customer, a National Law Firm, in Mississauga who specializes in real estate, secured and unsecured recoveries, and bankruptcy management, is looking for a full-time, in-office Real Estate Law Clerk with strong commitment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive work attitude to join their team on a permanent basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing files from beginning to the end of transactions for Purchases and Sales, Bank/Mortgage Financings of Residential transactions, re-financings and assumptions, title clean-ups, conducting due diligence searches (including off-title enquiries) in connection with real estate acquisitions.
- Conducting and reviewing title searches, registering documents and drafting requisitions.
- Ability to work well under pressure in both a team environment and independently.
- Prepare and register various documents in Teraview.
- Prepare documents and letters regarding real estate matters.
- Organize/collect document materials.
- Prepare reporting letters and reports.
- Close completed files, keep files organized and accessible.
- Drafting closing documents including status reports and final reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years experienced as a real estate assistant/law clerk.
- Functional proficiency in real estate clerking software including Conveyancer, Teraview, PCLaw, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and able process a file through to the final report.
- Possess a positive, professional and friendly attitude toward clients, referral sources and colleagues.
