What You'll Do:

Innovate and Design : Lead the conceptual and detailed mechanical design to meet commercial and military avionics design standards. You will be working on both New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as Sustaining initiatives.

Drive Improvement : Conduct failure analyses (DFMEA) and implement enhancements to proactively identify potential failures modes and implement effective design solutions.

Lead and Mentor : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to our dynamic mechanical engineering team.

Shape the Future : Contribute to new business proposals with compelling renderings, simulation models, and accurate work estimates.

Refine Processes : Play a key role in developing and improving engineering processes and procedures.

Collaborate Across Disciplines : Work closely with various engineering teams to achieve overarching system objectives.

Project Leadership : Take the helm on varying-sized development projects, steering them to successful completion.


What You'll Bring:

Educational Excellence : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.

Extensive Experience : At least 10 years of design experience in electro-mechanical packaging.

Technical Proficiency : Expertise in SolidWorks 3D, CAD, and PDM environments or equivalent tools. Experience with SolidWorks simulation tools (Flow, Thermal, Vibration, etc.).

Electronics Expertise : Hands-on experience with printed circuit board and circuit card assemblies.

Industry Savvy : Proven experience designing to defense and aerospace industry standards like DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704.

Manufacturing Collaboration : A strong track record of transitioning product designs to manufacturing through close collaboration.

Excellent Communicator : Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to Travel : Ready to visit customer sites for design review meetings (up to 10% travel).

• Due to the potential exposure to ITAR-controlled data, the incumbent in this role must be a qualified US Person.

• To conform to U.S. export control regulations, the applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government

• Must be eligible to serve as an Empowered Official under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
