What You'll Do:

• Innovate and Design : Lead the conceptual and detailed mechanical design to meet commercial and military avionics design standards. You will be working on both New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as Sustaining initiatives.

• Drive Improvement : Conduct failure analyses (DFMEA) and implement enhancements to proactively identify potential failures modes and implement effective design solutions.

• Lead and Mentor : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to our dynamic mechanical engineering team.

• Shape the Future : Contribute to new business proposals with compelling renderings, simulation models, and accurate work estimates.

• Refine Processes : Play a key role in developing and improving engineering processes and procedures.

• Collaborate Across Disciplines : Work closely with various engineering teams to achieve overarching system objectives.

• Project Leadership : Take the helm on varying-sized development projects, steering them to successful completion.

What You'll Bring:

• Educational Excellence : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.

• Extensive Experience : At least 10 years of design experience in electro-mechanical packaging.

• Technical Proficiency : Expertise in SolidWorks 3D, CAD, and PDM environments or equivalent tools. Experience with SolidWorks simulation tools (Flow, Thermal, Vibration, etc.).

• Electronics Expertise : Hands-on experience with printed circuit board and circuit card assemblies.

• Industry Savvy : Proven experience designing to defense and aerospace industry standards like DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704.

• Manufacturing Collaboration : A strong track record of transitioning product designs to manufacturing through close collaboration.

• Excellent Communicator : Superior verbal and written communication skills.

• Willingness to Travel : Ready to visit customer sites for design review meetings (up to 10% travel).

• Due to the potential exposure to ITAR-controlled data, the incumbent in this role must be a qualified US Person.

• To conform to U.S. export control regulations, the applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government

• Must be eligible to serve as an Empowered Official under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
