The ideal team members have at least 3 years of plaintiff's personal injury experience and experience handling a large case load. This is a fast-paced and high-volume position.
Paralegal Responsibilities:
Interacts with the client regularly (at least once every 45 days) to ensure the client is kept abreast of events and is informed of case progress
Handles client inquiries about case status or refers legal questions to the associate attorney assigned to the case
Handling cases from inception to trial and/or resolution
Drafts basic discovery demands/responses and other form pleadings and documents
Performs the electronic filing and service of pleadings
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Court Orders, discovery deadlines and Statutes of Limitations
Prepares/responds to correspondence to and from clients, insurance carriers, providers, etc.
Requesting, following up on and reviewing medical records
Maintains utmost professional standards towards the Firm and its clients
Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved
Paralegal Requirements:
Prior law firm experience in a litigation paralegal position required
Knowledge of the litigation process
Experience with writing & reviewing discovery, motions, and other legal documents
Knowledge of the Court's electronic filing systems
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized, efficient and proactive with an attention to detail
Experience using SmartAdvocate a plus, but not required
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM or 8AM to 4PM
Bilingual, preferably Spanish, is a plus but is not required
