Job Title: Paralegal – Defense Litigation (Contract-to-Hire)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Paralegal to join a dynamic legal team in Philadelphia on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense litigation, particularly in insurance defense and personal injury defense cases, with experience in the hospitality industry being a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Case Management: Manage a moderate caseload efficiently, handling every element of current cases, including drafting, filing, and maintaining accurate case records.
• Calendaring: Maintain critical deadlines and schedules using Outlook, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and proactively following up as necessary.
• Document Preparation: Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence.
• Insurance and Personal Injury Defense Support: Collaborate with attorneys to support defense strategies in cases involving firm insurance and personal injury claims.
• Communication: Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate smooth case progression.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in defense litigation, with a focus on insurance defense and personal injury defense in the hospitality sector.
• Skills: Proficient in Outlook for calendaring, with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Education: Paralegal certification or equivalent education/experience preferred.
