Day shift and Night Shift available
Position Summary:
As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for the setup and high-quality operation of a Flexo press at optimum speed without supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Set up and run high-quality prints on a gearless sleeve press at optimum speeds without supervision.
- Tone colors of solvent ink.
- Assemble and adjust doctor blade chambers.
- Adjust press settings to maximize run speed.
- Load and unload print sleeves from the press, storage rack, and rolls of material from the press.
- Check ink viscosity.
- Clean ink pumps.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions or irregularities and address quality issues in cooperation with Quality Control staff.
- Oversee and train press assistants in completing their responsibilities.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness to keep the machine operable.
- Maintain housekeeping for the press and workstation.
- Ensure the machine and work area are in good condition.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and cleaning solvents. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. This position has moderate to high demands for tight deadlines and may experience moderate interruptions in workflow due to product changeovers.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee must see color variance between products, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, stand for extended periods, and walk extended distances. The ability to lift 75 pounds to shoulder height and perform repetitive motions using wrists, hands, and fingers is required. The employee must be able to bend, push, pull, climb stairs, reach, lift, and grasp continuously for 6 to 10 hours per day. Good eyesight and normal hearing are also required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days, nights, and hours may vary depending on assigned shifts and production requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on business cycle demands and customer volume.
Travel:
Travel is not required for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Understanding and following safety procedures.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to lead and train staff.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment operation issues.
- Capability to multitask during production operations.
