Physician Support Service LLC

Grand Ledge, Michigan

 

We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. The duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.


Duties & Responsibilities

 

·       Handle administrative requests and queries from senior billing staff

·       Maintain electronic filing system

·       Update and maintain office policies and procedures

·       Communicate with insurance providers, patients and practitioners

·       Review patient bills and correct any missing or inaccurate information

·       Collect unpaid claims and clear up discrepancies by telephone, fax or email communication

·       Use of insurance carrier portals for eligibility & claims information

·       Complete data entry to update spreadsheets and reports

·       Work with patients to set up payment plans / work collections

Credentials

·       High school diploma

·       At least 2 years of work experience in an office setting preferred

·       Medical office experience a bonus

·       Compensation will be commensurate with other credentials / certifications /experience

·       Candidate must be willing to submit to a background check


Required Skills

·       Knowledge of basic office programs (ie: Word, Excel, etc.)

·       Ability to be self-directed and deliver high quality work products

·       Exceptional customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communication with patients and family members

·       Ability to work well within a team environment

·       Ability to triage priorities and handle conflict in a reasonable manner

·       Problem solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, and collections

·       Familiarity and adherence to patient confidentiality as per the HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) of 1996


Job Type : Part-time with flexible work schedule


Compensation: Hourly wage of  $14 - $20 (dependent on extent of experience credentials) plus annual bonus and vacation/personal time
