Job Description

As the Assistant Controller at Thermal Concepts, LLC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will contribute to the overall success of the finance team by actively participating in daily transaction processing of the Company’s working capital, financial reporting, and internal control processes. The Assistant Controller will also play a key role in supervising and mentoring accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the Controller to manage the daily working capital management of the business and subsidiaries, including the cash disbursement, cash application and Treasury activities.
  • Assist with the coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations and analysis of various general ledger accounts.
  • Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits.
  • Address audit findings and collaborate on the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of financial strategies to drive business growth.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the professional development and growth of team members through training and mentorship.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5 years experience in accounting / finance required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (Vista preferred)
