Manufacturing Engineer - 14 Months contract- Healthcare and PTO benefits offered,
This position is a project approved role for yield sustainment.
The manufacturing engineer will work on production lines that have been a part of a manufacturing transfer. The sending site processes will be sent two different locations. The disassembly and cleaning tasks will be in one facility and the assembly, functional testing, and packaging will be at another. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot simple electrical/mechanical systems.
Ability to work well in cross functional team settings.
The yield investigations/ troubleshooting may involve processes in the Chandler, Lakeland and TJ sites.
In the reprocessing of surgical devices, there are several steps. The used devices are received in from the hospitals. The devices are identified and sorted by model. The devices may require some level of disassembly prior to cleaning. The devices are then cleaned, assembled, functional tested, packaged, and then sent out for sterilization. The devices or sub-components may come in damaged or become damaged during the remanufacturing process. The candidate will need to be able to trace dips in yield back to the point of origin and develop countermeasures to improve/stabilize the process. The processes are currently performed in one site. This will move to a split process during the manufacturing transfer. The device receiving, identification, disassembly and cleaning will be performed at the site where the candidate will be. The cleaned devices/components will be shipped to a second site for assembly, functional testing, packaging, and sterilization. The candidate will need to work in cross functional teams with the sending site and the assembly site to improve production yields. The candidate should have a strong background in problem solving, troubleshooting equipment, and continuous improvement
