up to $49.65/hour

12 month contract

We are seeking a highly motivated Fiber Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to designing and managing fiber networks. This position involves overseeing fiber design, route allocation, and map creation for customer-funded projects or company-driven initiatives, such as expansion, overbuild, and municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend kick-off meetings to assess project requirements for new backbone, lateral, or riser fiber installations.
• Design and map backbone and lateral fiber routes.
• Create comprehensive A-Z fiber design maps.
• Assign fiber routes to construction teams for implementation.
• Process purchase orders and approve vendor payments.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Experience

• 1+ year of fiber engineering and construction management experience or equivalent.
• Experience in field construction management, with knowledge of both outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber construction preferred.
• Familiarity with Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) is a plus.
• Understanding of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards is desirable.
