Patent Agent

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Patent Agent to join our client, a prestigious law firm, to support attorneys and patent agents in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for emerging technologies. This role involves working closely with inventors and attorneys to draft and manage patent applications for cutting-edge technologies, ensuring compliance with both technical and legal requirements. It requires conducting novelty searches, drafting detailed patent documentation, and assisting in the strategic management of patent portfolios to safeguard innovative advancements.

Focus:

• Collaborate with inventors and legal professionals to draft and prosecute patent applications for cutting-edge technologies.
• Identify and evaluate inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Conduct comprehensive novelty and clearance searches to differentiate inventions from the existing state of the art.
• Develop thorough and precise patent applications that align with technical and legal requirements.
• Work alongside attorneys to negotiate and refine the scope of patent applications with the Patent Office.
• Prepare reports and documentation to aid in the strategic management of patent portfolios.

Skill Set:

• Expertise in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with technical and legal teams.
• Strong technical writing skills with an ability to draft clear and comprehensive patent documents.
• Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
