Summary / Objective

As a project engineer you will support the sales life cycle of video wall projects from a technical knowledge perspective. Working alongside the sales team, you with directly interface with our reseller partners to build custom proposals, schedule project reviews, coordinate installations, and perform post-install debriefs. Primary goals include ensuring resellers have quoted the correct products and viability of product for application and purpose. Host pre-install training and preparation sessions with resellers to ensure installations are completed seamlessly. This role requires extensive multi-tasking, ability to recall and differentiate several projects simultaneously, meticulous attention to detail, and at least 5 years audio/video industry experience (video formats/resolutions, cabling (Cat & Fiber), HDMI switching systems and topology, construction (residential and commercial), control/automation systems, etc). The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills and strong ability to remember or memorize reseller project details. This is an office based position with some overnight travel required for trade shows (U.S. and Canada), onsite training, and visits to our HQ office periodically.

Pre-Requisite Skills to Be Considered for This Position

Applicants must possess direct experience in audio video system design and deployments. Those without at least 5+ years direct experience in the CEDIA and/or AVIXA related industries will NOT be considered. Video Wall experience desired, but not required. 

Responsibilities

• Daily calls to dealers to offer assistance and support as they create new video wall projects
• Review video wall proposals and compare to project scope for fitment and accuracy
• Assist sales team in large scale or custom project proposal creation
• Review project drawings and customize as needed
• Train new accounts in pre-installation best practices
• Ensure project sites are wired and prepared for video wall installations
• Coordinate installation scheduling of projects, work with delays, and reschedules
• Work with Operations to track product delivery timelines, coordinate installations
• Advocate customer needs and new ideas to management team
• Provide technical feedback on enhancements and changes to existing and development products.
• Work with Technical Engineering teams for appropriate resolution of outstanding issues
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide reports to team
• Support marketing activities setup trade shows, demos and events

To Be Successful You Will Need

• Specific AV industry experience will be considered in lieu of degrees
• Associates Degree EET (Bachelors Preferred)
• Certified Technology Specialist-CTS or equivalent desired
• Ability to work in fast paced and stressful environments in team and individual settings
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to rent cars on remote trips
• Proficiency with CAD, Draw.io, Sketchup, Visio, or other drawing platforms
• Ability to modify and create small CAD type drawings desired
• Thorough knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Mac and PC literate
• Programming experience on a major remote control or automation system platform
• Understanding of A/V, electrical and mechanical drawings
• Strong understanding of IT/Networking/AV

Work Environment

Ideal candidate will be local to south Florida and work from our Tamarac, FL Headquarters, as well as occasional home office environment. A remote opportunity is available for the right candidate not residing in south Florida.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and unless otherwise specified, hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm in your local time zone. You will be working across all time zones of the U.S., and this position frequently requires early/late hours and potential weekend work as job duties demand. 

Travel:

Required during the training period. Post onboarding and training period, required travel limited to trade shows, on jobsite training, and quarterly HQ visits. Trips with sales team to visit resellers optional.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience, plus incentive commission plan.
