Job Description

Structural / Mechanical Engineer

Are you a skilled engineer passionate about mechanical and structural analysis? We’re seeking a Structural / Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and validation of cutting-edge crane systems and components. This role offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities to work on challenging projects, and a path for career growth in a collaborative team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical calculations to evaluate stresses in structural and mechanical components of cranes.
  • Analyze static strength and fatigue life of fasteners, shafts, bearings, gears, and more, applying standards such as AWS D1.1/D14.1, AISC, CMAA, and AGMA.
  • Use tools like MathCad, ANSYS, and in-house analytical programs to perform calculations in compliance with industry standards (e.g., NOG, CMAA, AISC).
  • Develop automation tools and programs in MathCAD, Excel, and APDL for standardizing calculations.
  • Build detailed 3D ANSYS models for cranes to simulate behavior during seismic events.
  • Conduct buckling analyses (Eigenvalue and nonlinear) and optimize crane components for geometry and functional constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
  • Leverage knowledge of codes like ASCE and IBC to support design efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of related experience performing structural or mechanical calculations (5 years preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Expertise in structural analysis and fatigue failure theories.
  • Proficiency with tools like MathCAD, ANSYS, and APDL.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (AWS, AISC, CMAA, AGMA).
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching, profit sharing, identity theft protection, and more.
  • Paid Time Off:
  • 2 weeks of vacation annually (pro-rated for the first year).
  • Additional vacation after 5 years of service (up to 4 weeks).
  • 5 days of sick leave annually and 10 paid holidays per year.
