About the Role
As the Quality Manager , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all of Othram’s processes, from laboratory operations to organizational procedures, meet the highest quality standards. You will oversee documentation, manage compliance with accreditation standards, coordinate internal audits, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This dynamic role influences quality not just within the lab, but across the entire organization.
What You Get to Do Every Day
Documentation and Process Management
- Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Conduct annual SOP reviews and coordinate staff acknowledgment.
- Stay updated on accreditation standards and revise SOPs accordingly.
Quality and Compliance Oversight
- Manage QUALTRAX to track and maintain quality documents.
- Prepare for new accreditations and annual reassessments.
- Conduct internal audits to verify compliance and identify improvements.
- Investigate and document incidents and deviations, and prepare CAPA reports .
- Perform risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
Employee Training and Development
- Track and ensure completion of continuing education for all staff.
- Coordinate participation in proficiency testing programs.
- Guide quality-related training programs and validate competency standards.
System Reviews and Validation
- Conduct regular quality management system reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist in and review validations of processes, instruments, and workflows.
Trend and Pattern Analysis
- Analyze incident reports to identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
Audit Scheduling and Coordination
- Develop and maintain an internal audit schedule and oversee audit activities.
What You Bring to the Role
Required Competencies and Experience
- Experience in Accredited Laboratories :
- 2-5 years of experience working in labs accredited by:
- AABB (American Association of Blood Banks)
- CAP (College of American Pathologists)
- CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments)
- ISO/IEC 17025 (International Standard for Testing and Calibration Laboratories)
- Strong preference for experience in ISO/IEC 17025-accredited labs .
- Clinical or ISO Laboratory Background :
- Professional experience in a clinical or ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of compliance and operational standards.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Standards :
- Familiarity with processes required to maintain and operate in accredited environments.
Preferred Competencies and Experience
- Forensic Laboratory Experience :
- Experience in forensic labs accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Quality Management Expertise :
- Track record of designing and refining quality management systems.
- Risk Management and Continuous Improvement :
- Proven experience identifying risks and fostering continuous improvement.
- Innovative and Iterative Approach :
- Ability to assess systems, identify gaps, and implement improvements.
