Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing sports center construction projects, managing contractor coordination, ensuring compliance local / state building codes and accessibility laws. You will ensure all project aspects, including safety, ADA compliance, structural integrity, and environmental standards, are executed effectively. Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for Project Manager I, II, or Senior Project Manager levels.
Responsibilities
  • Construction Coordination: Oversee sports center construction activities, including cost management, quality control, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Facility Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections to evaluate facility safety, ADA compliance, and structural soundness; may require ladder use.
  • Feasibility & Design: Assess feasibility of construction or renovation projects, redesigning floor plans to enhance accessibility and optimize space, using CAD software.
  • Estimation & Documentation: Prepare accurate cost and time estimates, draft work write-ups, and create detailed plans to support contractor bidding.
  • Contractor Management: Lead bid tours, inspect contractor work to ensure it aligns with contractual obligations, and monitor contractor licensing and insurance for compliance with California standards.
  • Code Compliance: Partner with local building departments to ensure all aspects meet California codes, including energy efficiency and seismic safety regulations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project records, including scopes of work, permits, contracts, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in construction project management, specifically in sports facility or commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Arkansas building codes, ADA standards, environmental regulations, and sports facility specifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software for floor planning and design.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and contractors.
  • Valid California driver's license; a contractor's license is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
