KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting has partnered with a growing construction company in the Milford, NH area who is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a growing organization within the construction industry. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role, ideal for a detail-oriented and strategic financial professional. The Controller will manage day-to-day accounting functions and provide insightful analysis to support business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts, offering actionable insights to drive performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies; implement effective internal controls.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support operational needs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, fostering growth and operational efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Industry experience in construction, engineering, or contracting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
