Key Responsibilities:
- FEA Simulation
- Solid structural analysis capabilities using ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL.
- Modelling, analyzing, and developing solutions for drop/shock structural problems, and steady state and transient thermal problems.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills; FEA Simulation.
- ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL.
- 3D modelling software’s (Siemens NX preferred. Solidworks, Creo).
- 5+ year’s experience using commercial FEA simulation tools preferably Ansys and/or Abaqus.
- Experience with 3D modelling software (Siemens NX preferred. Solidworks, or similar allowed)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience delivering analysis and developing solutions for consumer products.
- PhD or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- How many years of related experience are you looking for in your ideal candidate?: 4 year to 25 Years.
- Mechanical design skills for components and assemblies
- Basic Optical design skills (Free space optical systems)
- Prototyping and assembly skills (Large lab setups and form factor prototypes)
- CAD Modeling skills for optical and mechanical systems
- Prototyping (Own full loop- design, fabrication, build and test)
- Self-sufficient- Ability to source answers when stuck, motivated to chase down details and follow up to ensure progress being made. Sometimes working with limited inputs and can handle ambiguity while still making informed decisions.
- Time management, Willingness to learn, ability to handle multiple projects at same time.
- Looking for 5+ years of experience relevant roles or skills would be.
- Design for prototype manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, milling, and turning.
- SolidWorks mechanical CAD experience preferred
- Zemax or Code V optical CAD experience preferred
- Familiarity with lab processes and equipment such as lasers.
- General familiarity with standard optical and optomechanical components (lenses, mirrors, mounts, stages, cameras, etc.) as well as the major suppliers (Thorlabs, Edmund Optics, Newport, McMaster, Digikey, etc.)
