Position Overview

The Revenue Accounting Manager will oversee the revenue recognition process under ASC 606, ensuring compliance and fostering collaboration across departments to enhance accounting tools and processes. This role involves managing billing, collections, and month-end revenue and cost of revenue close processes, analyzing large datasets using advanced Excel skills, reviewing contracts, and developing accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise T&M revenue recognition, billing, collections, and cash application activities, with teams based in Addison, TX and India.
2. Provide leadership and coaching to team members, helping them develop skills and achieve business and customer-focused results.
3. Lead the implementation of revenue best practices to support business growth and global revenue expansion.
4. Ensure customer contract terms and conditions are accounted for correctly under ASC 606.
5. Review monthly Trade AR, unbilled AR, deferred revenue, unapplied cash, and intercompany balance sheet reconciliations and roll-forwards, ensuring that general ledger account data is accurate, consistent, and auditable.
6. Integrate acquired businesses into Workday Financials to streamline billing and reporting processes.
7. Prepare monthly bad debt reserve analysis.
8. Review and ensure that all revenue and cost of revenue journal entries are supported by proper documentation and approval before recording in Workday Financials.
9. Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of accounting processes. Create and update standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation.
10. Support external audits, including annual financial audits, tax audits, and customer audits, by efficiently sourcing relevant data.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Certifications : CPA preferred
• Experience :
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Experience handling complex revenue arrangements
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience with Workday Financials is preferred
